Clip to ScrapBook #1

I have a new kid this year that moved into our district the day before school started. He is quiet and nice.

Mom sends me an email today saying Zeke tells her he doesn't want to come to school. He's never said a word and I've never noticed anything. I pull him aside and ask if everything is ok.

He looks me in the eye and says no one is bothering him, he has lots of friends. Then he tells me, "I'd just rather be home playing my Xbox. It's a lot more fun at home." I was speechless. At least the kid was honest. 😊

I have several behavior problems this year and they suck the life out of me. I guess I appreciated this little guy's answer.

I guess his mom did not ask him what he did not want to go to school.

Mom to tell her what he said. Never heard back. Hopefully she's embarrassed. I would be!

Kids today are so addicted to those electronic games! I guess you should tell him to get an education so he can design his own games someday.

Nice. You could say, "So would I, Zeke".

Yes, I tell mine, "Yes, there are things at home I'd rather be doing sometimes but there are things in life we have to do anyway."
