Interactive learning MATH games/sites for SMARTBOARD...

Hi second grade teachers!

I am a special ed teacher with upper elementary students that are working at a grade 2/3 math level.

Part of my math center time involves small group guided lessons as well as short, whole group lessons.

I would like to also include a fun, interactive learning component by using the smart board to review number sense, addition and subtraction. Possibly even telling time.

Right now, I just bring up the starfall.com or abcya.com websites, and project it onto the board for the kids to pick the answers.

Do you have any other/better suggestions? I am realizing that the colorful and interactive visuals of the Smartboard is really essential in my special ed room....so I need more suggestions!

Thank you!

There are interactive dice in the gallery (?) of the Smartboard. I used them several years ago so sorry if my memory isn't quite right. There were dice of different colors and you tap the dice and they "roll". Could you do some kind of subitizing activity with dice?

There are interactive clocks also where you click on hands and move them. The clocks are very "touchy" and difficult to place the hands where you want them. If they used a pointer (or swap a whiteboard marker into the pen slot and use the pen itself as a pointer) instead of a finger to move them you might have more luck.

There are also timers...could they write math fact answers and try to beat the timer on the Smartboard?

Maybe you can also post this question on the technology board?

abcya.com has some great math games! It also has other games as well, but it does have a math section too that works well with smartboard.
