Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi All

I need a pep talk.
I'm a retired teacher and have been subbing off and on in different districts. Basically have had real positive experiences.
Just started at a new district and I don't want to sub and not picking up jobs.
We are on a fixed income which covers all the bills. We need extra money for the little extras the fun things and to buy things that need to be replaced.
Subbing is the most flexible job there is and pays $90 a day not bad.
My DH and I are getting on each other's nerves and Eles cafe is open all day and night
Thanks for letting me vent

Remind yourself of the positive experiences you have had subbing! This morning, I left the house singing about the new class of students I was going to meet at another new school. And I wasn't disappointed, I got to make friends with new teachers, too.

I got to learn the system at a half-day of school. The teachers had parent conferences in the afternoon, so I only had to stay until after lunch. I still have half a day to burn! Not a bad day! I got to do something interesting and talk with a lot students.

Thank you for your sweet post
I just accepted a 2nd grade position for tomorrow. Probably just need to get my feet wet and feeling lazy from being home. It's only one day and Friday

Good for you! If you have any children's picture books at home, take a couple with you. If not, there will be some in the classroom. Promise them a story, and or read them a story when you get a chance and they will adore you!

And you'll be hooked!
