There's a way to go into S.T.A.R. and print off reports that list the skills that he/she needs to work on. That's what we did at my school and we called it "Rocket Time." We would use those skills to plan and make activities that were fun and engaging. Then we would decide who would teach what level;. swap kids if necessary, and set a block of time each day for Reading Rocket Time I had all of my first graders on 3rd or 4th grade reading skills level, with the exception of two, by the end of the school year; (one was speech and e.s.l. and the other one had mental handicap and big-time behavior issues).
When you go into S.T.A.R. Early Literacy /Renaissance (spell.?) Place, look for this: " Instructional Planning Reports." I hope this helps you! These reports helped out my first grade team, tremendously!
