Easiest sub day ever!

I subbed in a preschool class that only has three students.... And they have a para who helped us through our afternoon! I am told the class will grow, but for now it is what it is. Needless to say it was the easiest sub day I remember ever having.

Glad u enjoyed your time. Where was the rest of the class? If that were me, they would've been making changes like merging me with another teacher's class or worse! Just be glad you're not me, lol!

Now I know there is a good reason that class only has 3 students, along with a para. Yikes, just the word, "preschool" is enough to make me break out in a cold sweat. Good for you that you had a great day with those little cuties. The good, easy days help us get through the challenging assignments.

I usually won't take preschool jobs, but another teacher recommended the teacher ask me to take her job. I felt obligated to take it, especially after he made sure I knew how small the class is. I'm glad I took the job.

Only 3 students?

I would be bored out of my mind. I am in a long term in my old classroom. I have 9 students who are moderately cognitively impaired. Seven are in wheelchairs. One student is severely impacted by autism. A new student in a wheelchair is to start soon. We rearranged seating assignments at the table. The previous teacher had the lowest functioning student, who is also visually impaired, sitting at the back of the room. I moved him to the front. The new student will also sit in the front due to a vision impairment. I currently have two paraprofessionals and two CNAs. They are planning on moving one CNA to a different building. Right now we are down one paraprofessional in another self-contained classroom, so I sent a para to her room today. We managed.

Enjoy those easy days. They are few and far between!
Kathy

It has been years since I have worked in pre k as a sub, and it was only a half day assignment, so I guess that is why I wasn't bored.

I had 16 Kindegarten students in class, and a Para that stayed with or followed the students all day. I don't usually take K classes. I loved it! It was heaven. And they asked me to come back tomorrow and Friday. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
