Do you grade assignments using points or percentages?
Which is better and why?
Does your report card/online gradebook have a place to weight assignments? Do you use that feature?

We have a weighted program. For example in math we have 2 weighted categories: fact tests and skills teats.

If you use points, then each question counts equally instead of each assisgnment counting equally (with percentages).

IMO it shouldn't matter which you choose as long as you are consistent within each grading category (if you have used the weighted category function).
