Has anyone ever taken this, or currently take it? It was recommended to me for anxiety, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. I already plan to double check with my doctor to make sure it doesn't conflict with any of my current medications.

I tried it once and it put me in a very weird mood, but I'm extremely sensitive to some drugs. I do have a friend that thought it helped her, though.

I took it for depression. I know it worked because if I ran out and didn't replenish it right away, within 3 days I would feel extremely sad. It increases serotonin levels and I had not heard that it works for anxiety. Eventually I went to prescription meds for anxiety and depression because in order to get enough 5-HTP you have to take between 400-1500 mg. per day and the highest dosage comes in 100 mg. tablets. I was having to buy it every 2 weeks. Its much cheaper to pay for Lexapro covered by insurance and its working. It can't hurt to try it and see if it works for you.

I took it for anxiety awhile ago. It actually worked pretty well.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to give it a try.
