Praying people - May my DH please have some?

Please and thank you! He is on his way to talk with our pastor who has proven to be nothing but a tyrant since he came, with both staff and members, especially our lay leaders. We are working with synod on what steps we need to take to get him out and begin a new call process but in the meantime DH is on his way to church (has an appointment) to ask our pastor some very pointed questions. Prayers would really be appreciated for DH's peace (he is by nature a calm person but is a bit nervous), wisdom, guidance and discernment.

Thanks so much!

Nancy

Of course, Nancy! Praying for a positive and fruitful meeting, for a good resolution for your church, and for your pastor to get whatever help he needs.

Praying that the meeting went well and that your husband was able to ask/say all that needed to be said.

Confrontation of our spiritual leaders can be pretty stressful I understand why your DH would have concerns.

From your past posts, it sounds like your pastor isn't open to making changes in his pastoral performance. It will take a very direct discussion to help your pastor understand the need for him to change or leave.

Praying that your DH returns home with the answers your church needs.

Let us know how the meeting goes.

Hoping all goes well! Keep us posted.

Honestly, it sounds like he needs to be removed and an interium pastor be placed at your church. When our pastor retired, we had an interium pastor for almost two years so it can take awhile.

Praying that the meeting was fruitful. Your DH is following the Biblical principal of confronting the person one to one.

I hope he is able to get through it ok. To calm his nerves, tell him that the pastor is the one who should be nervous. He is the one causing problems and has his job on the line. Your husband is did nothing wrong and has nothing to lose in this situation.

I hope the meeting went well.
Much like the advice we give teachers, I also hope he didn't go alone.

It is a tricky road your congregation finds itself travelling.
It will get better --- eventually.

Prayers sent. It is so rough when a congregation is not being guided with a gentle hand.
