Flu Days...

They have closed our elementary school for the rest of the week due to the number of students and teachers we have out sick. We have several who have both strep and flu. We missed a whole week for snow and now this. I will enjoy my time at home, but it is stressing me how far behind we are getting. Feeling thankful that I have escaped all the germs! (Knock on wood!!)

This is such a horrible season for all kinds of sicknesses so I am glad to hear many school districts are closing, sanitizing and allowing time for sick people to heal and not spread those germs, at least around school! Enjoy your week off and try not to worry about being behind. Stay healthy!

I get a bit depressed when the experts say flu season is often 16 weeks or longer. I am also feeling lucky to have dodged the flu, but know I need 2 more months of that luck.

I honestly wish our school would do this. We've had a couple of kinder teachers out all last week and even a few days this week with the flu. Students that were sick and come back even after a week are still coughing and gross noses running.

Enjoy your time off!

My class has not been too decimated by the flu, but we have had staff especially affected by it. I feel very sad when I read how many children are passing away from the flu nation-wide, so I am glad that districts who are highly affected are taking steps to close down and let people fully get better. On the other hand, we had a delayed opening today for icing. I'll take that anytime!
