If your school is big into using twitter to showcase what your students are doing, how do you feel about it? Is it a good idea?

There are many teachers at my school that do. I personally don't though since I already post class videos to our school website and send a weekly newsletter home.

I have a specific twitter handle that is vague (Elementary focused).

When I tweet pics of my students, they are profile or from a distance. The focus is more on their work or activity. Also, my students all have school photo media releases. If thereís a question, Iíll put an emoji over their face.

Thereís a media/twitter committee at my school & Iím on it. We made specific guidelines of expectations; as well as a general ďdoĒ & ďdontísĒ list.

Lastly, trust your gut - when in doubt, donít tweet the pic.

Overall, itís been a positive experience, but I always err on the side of caution.

We are not required to tweet but my district is very big into Twitter. We have a hashtag we use to post district news and activities.

The kids LOVED it! It was so easy and so fun... Until I noticed that I had a total of 12 followers.

Wah-wah-wa-wa-wah...

Yes, and I really didn't want to, but last month I relented and posted a few things.

Why not message parents etc using Dojo? Parents love communication.

Our district encourages us to use these things but the frustrating thing is we were instructed to not have our phones out at all during the school day. So, they expect you to have pictures of what you're doing in class and post frequently, but can't have your phone out?

If you do do it, just make sure you have consent from each parent to take photos of their child and post it on twitter.

Use an iPad- just don't use Twitter for it- use an online portfolio app like Bloomz. That's what I do and we have the 'no phone' rule.

No way. I have more than enough to do already each and every day with making and following plans, increasing higher level thinking, using essential questions, intervening with low students, enriching high students, grading, answering emails, writing SAT plans, observations, putting in my own PD days, newsletters, mandated testing, reflections, district trainings... Should I go on? No one is adding something else. I am fried.
