Are you in Central Florida?

I have word sorts scheduled, as well as just some repetition of words through the usual methods of teaching spelling lists.

Nothing ground breaking!

Good luck!

Red words

You may want to check out Orton Gillingham's procedure for teaching sight words. Look up "red words" on YouTube. I just discovered this video last week and will try it on my small groups.

When spelling out the word, try using a different, silly voice for the silent letter. That's the way I taught my kids, year after year, how to remember where the "e" goes in "doEsn't. I always used a much higher pitched voice on the "e" and the kids enjoyed doing it too. The number of reversals of the letters "e" and "s" dramatically reduced. :-)
