Looking for favorite Dr Seuss books that are a little less commonly used. Going to try Oh the Places You'll Go and the Lorax. Any other ideas?

At my school each grade level uses a book for a project on Read Across America Day. One of my favorites, and not as common, is What Pet Should I Get? It is great for discussion because it doesn't actually reveal what pet he chooses, and then we do a follow up where the students choose a pet and make a paper bag pet puppet.

I love "My Many Colored Days" because the illustrations are so different than all of his other books. We do a chalk art project with it (just simple like the book) that always looks great.

"In a People House"

(Then the kids can work together to write "in a People School".)
