Dry skin around eyes

Iím having trouble with dry, red skin under my eyes and on my eyelids. I changed my face wash to Cetaphil gentle wash and it helped. I donít use eye make up. I put Aquaphor around my eyes at night to keep the redness and dryness somewhat controlled.

Iím older now so my skin isnít the same as a young 'un. I donít know why this is happening.

Whatís causing this problem?

If itís just about your eyes, have you considered that it may be something other than dry skin?
If what youíve tried at home isnít working, you might consider a visit to the dermatologist.

There are some amazing products

for care of the tender skin around and under eyes. L'Oreal makes some good ones. Also Philosophy and ROC. They are expensive, but worth it. I might try a little Vitamin E at night, too.

Thanks.

I may need to go to the dermatologist. I tried before but the appointment would be weeks or a month away and I feared the skin would clear up by that time making the appointment worthless.

I never considered vitamin E. I have thought it might be thyroid, but the thyroid blood tests come back fine.

rosacea.. when I first was diagnosed it started with dry, flaky skin around the eye along with redness. I had perfect skin until menopause hit at the tender age of 47!

I'd suggest a visit with a dermatologist.

I had that dry skin appear around my eyes and it really upset me. I'm 64. I switched from my Mary Kay moisturizing cream to oil of olay and the dry skin disappeared almost immediately.
