Myrtle Beach hotel recommendations

Hi!

I am looking on Expedia hotel packages for Myrtle Beach for April break. I'd prefer a moderately priced hotel because we spend our time out and about. I"d appreciate any personal experience! Some of the ones that looked nice are:

Dunes Village Resort
The Breakers Resort
Coral Beach Resorts and Suites
Compass Cove Resort

Some are N. Ocean Blvd., and some are N. Ocean. Any difference?

Thanks so much- it's just me and dh, so we don't need to worry about things for kids.

Check the reviews on Trip Advisor.

Check out the Caravelle. Lots of different options and I've stayed in most of them. I happen to like the St John's set of rooms. Across the street from ocean, quieter, cheaper, and s nice pool that doesn't get too crowded.

We always stay at The Caribbean Resort. (The main building, not the villas.) It's down a bit from the other hotels so the beach isn't crowded at all, but it's still plenty close to everything.

I've heard of all of those hotels and they would be fine I think. I've been going to MB for 50 years and now have a time share there at Broadway at the Beach {across from it} I am actually going down Friday and Saturday for a weekend get away after about a month of caregiving. We are staying at the Carolinian. I have stayed at the Carribean before.

There are tons of great places. I agree, though, read the reviews. Some places are very old.

Also Dayton House is older, but has a nice grassy place in front to sit and enjoy the oceanview.

There are definitely a lot of choices. I usually have good results with the reviews on Trip Advisor and/or AAA. Have a great time!

Also, look a little south at Garden City Beach, Surfside Beach, or Litchfield. These areas are close to all of the attractions, but are more family oriented. You won't find the same time of clientele you might encounter if you stay on Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach. Garden City and Surfside are 15 minutes south of Myrtle Beach. There are several large complexes in GC including Water's Edge and Royal Garden. Garden City has an amazing pier with nightly music, ice cream shop, and restaurant. A little further south is Litchfield. It is beautiful! There is a large complex there called Litchfield by the Sea which offers many different types of accommodations. You might be able to call them direct and get a better price than Expedia. For the others, I would check on VRBO.
