Latest Quilt

Clip to ScrapBook #1

My extended family is expanding quickly with another new niece in April. I finished the quilt top in early March but had no inspiration to do the quilting. I sent it off to Missouri Star Quilt Co for edge to edge quilting. I am very happy with how it turned out, I just didn’t get the quilt back until early June.

They squared it up so I just needed to put on the binding which I had prepped and did by machine. I got it back on a Saturday, got it bound on Sunday and new niece (out of town) had it Thursday.

It’s a disappearing 9 patch design. It did take some courage to cut the 9 patches apart, but I love how it makes it look more complex.

And the back. They needed the back to be 4in beyond the top for loading into the longarm. My piece wasn't wide enough, but I had enough of the pendant fabric to piece that in the middle.

Neat and nicely done! Did the fabric come from a collection or did you pick each kind out?

It was a charm pack. 5in squares from a line that has several of each print. I usually pick the backing from one of those prints and get yardage.

Wonderful quilt! I like the panel down the middle of the back too. It ties is all together.

I would love to make some quilts. I have quilted placemats, table runners, etc.

Your quilt is so happy -- great combination of colors and prints.
