My FAVORITES are Whistling, Salt Hands, Rollercoaster...today just tried Eve Bunting's Butterfly House - fabulous. Also, Owl Moon and Shortcut.

if you have the UOS there's a CD that lists all the books you need for the small moments unit. I am not sure if it's this blog or the Debie Miller room that someone posted her lessons for the month of October for small units. Check both rooms they have really good stuff on small moments. Some other books that i used were the kissing hand, a chair for my mother, owl moon, and the two of us!

I use a Chair for My Mother.
I tell my students that a small moment is something that is close to their heart. Think of it as a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie itself is your whole life but one chocolate chip is something that has happened to you or something that is special.
Hope this makes sense!
If you have the Units of Study, Calkins explains how to teach a small moment and what it is.
