I'll take some pix tomorrow. I have a thumbprint tree with fall leaves I really like...the trunk is their forearm dipped in paint. I also do a thankful tree: build a butcher paper tree and the kids write what they are thankful for on leaves and we create the tree as the month goes on.

We are making scarecrows, hand drawing pumpkins(see Deep Space Sparkle online) and have water colored leaves and mounted them on watercolor paper. I can post pics tomorrow too. Next week we are making paperbag puppet owls. I bought the polyester made "wings" ,which are polyester leaves, tonight at the Dollar Store.

We do this, too, and I always really like it. I also cut out big "feathers" for a turkey for the kids to decorate however they like and then we make a class turkey. I like to do still life drawings or paintings with pumpkins, gourds, sunflowers, etc. We've also done the deep space sparkle pumpkins. Leaf rubbings are fun - a few years ago I laminated some really pretty leaves so we can reuse them each year (you can still get the veins and such when rubbing them after lamination).

We learned how to use a watercolor set and are watching various trees for seasonal changes.

I have some ideas now. For the scarecrow...did kids cut the shapes. I think I might stick to just the head. Also...If you don't know about deep sparkle..it has great ideas also

Kids get basic squares and rectangles and are taught how fold, cut and make two rectangles and how to round off corners to make circles and ovals.

Hand print turkeys. They can cut out extra feathers and add them to the finger part.

I appreciate all of your ideas. It feels like Novebmer is going to fly by...or I'm getting older...or both.
