What do you think?

I think it was still completely wrong. It’s very odd to me.

about allowing anyone else to use one's medical insurance, and everyone is informed about it. She willingly took the chance by using the card for someone not covered.
What I wonder is what her salary was in that district. Our superintendent could easily have paid the boys bill out of pocket. He earns well over $250,000 a year with great benefits. That would have been better or she could have taken up a collection to pay it.

OTOH=this does not happen in other developed nations, because medical treatment is available to all the citizens. I think this is more of a negative statement against our government than against an individual person.

If this young man did not get treatment, I wonder what would have happened to him.

I do know of other types of illegal activities going on because Americans need money for medical expenses. I have read what some hard working Americans are doing to get insulin. It used to cost $25, it has not changed now it costs $500-$700.

I saw this on the news this morning too. Strep throat can turn dangerous if untreated, so I understand the impulse to help, but I also wondered why she didn't just pay for it. (Maybe she thought the kid wouldn't accept it unless he thought it was "free"?)

Other articles said she tried to be honest but they wouldn’t let her get him treatment because she wasn’t his legal guardian. Therefore she “had” to lie.

I admire her guts in caring for that sick child even though she knew her actions would risk her career. So many Americans do not care about anyone but themselves and their families. She is a hero to me and I wish her happiness as she deals with the consequences.
