It is pretty much done. I do want to get a mirror to hang on the back of the door yet because when I sew clothes for myself, I need to see how it fits! Here is my machine area.Click image for larger version

I looked online for pegboard ideas and didn’t feel crafty enough to create a frame around it so I bought ribbon and glued it as a frame and then put large white buttons in the corners so I didn’t have to miter the ribbon.

I bought bed risers to elevate it so I do have to hunched over when I am working at it.

Portable Design “wall”

I don’t do much quilting yet, but have taken a class to make a lap quilt and plan to do more quilting. I made this design board from one of those foldable cardboard cutting mats ( that I had in my basement and never used) and covered it with flannel. I put a couple of grommets at the top so I can hang it over the closet doors when I need to use it.I am not sure how durable it will be, but I have nothing other than my time invested in it for the most part.

The room is really nice and sunny and the cats love being in there with me. I have the shades pulled for the pictures, but normally let in all the natural light.

Looks like a good use of space. I spent this icy morning in my space.

It looks great! I also think using bed risers is a genius idea! Never would have thought of that.

I can’t take the credit for the bed riser idea. I read it on a quilting blog recommended by another PTer

What a great setup. I currently sew in my adult son's repurposed bedroom that also serves as a guest room/office. I don't have room for a cutting table but would love to have one. Your post has me thinking about setting up a space in my basement to use just for sewing. I like all the different "stations" you have. The setup I have is nice, but I can't just leave a project out for a few days; I have to clean it up and put stuff away so that the room can be used for its other purposes. I would love a room like yours.
