Hours of school building

What hours are you able to be at your school? I always see posts both on here and from teachers on Instagram of people who are in their rooms late or on weekends. At my school we can only be there when the school is ďopenĒ meaning the before/ after school program is there. So thatís from 7-6 daily. No weekends.

I think it's 5 am-8 pm weekdays and 8 am-5 pm on the weekends. If I wanted to go in on the weekend (and I don't ) I have to call school police to turn off the alarms.

Ours is open something like 6 AM- 8 PM. It used to be that teachers couldn't go in on weekends unless an admin went in an opened the building.

This year we're in a new building and teachers can go in on the weekends.
I personally prefer the old days when that wasn't an option, so it doesn't become an expectation. 7 AM- 6 PM seems like more than enough time to be at school, IMO!

We can go in as early as 6:30am and can be there as late as 10:00pm during the school week. (We have outside groups use our multi-purpose room for things like men's basketball practice at night so I think that is why it is open so late.) Faculty/staff have key cards to swipe to get in. The key cards are set to only work during the week days. The custodian needs to be in the building if the boiler is on.

If the principal was going to be in the building on the weekend, I guess we could ask her if we could come in, but she would have to let us in since our key cards wouldn't work.

Any time I want. We all have keys and free access. Although one teacher learnt that the neighbours on the farm next to the school call the police if the lights are on at 10pm. The principal turned up in his pjís to find out what was going on.

Any time I want. I'm there now.

I like being able to be here at night when it is quiet. I'm not a morning person, so there's no way I'd ever go in early. And sometimes I have something I want to do in the early afternoon, so I can just go back to my classroom after.

The only problem is that the heat turns off, so I do have my puffy coat on while I'm working.

The custodian gets there at 6:30 a.m. so we can be let in at that time. The evening custodian leaves about 11:30 p.m. so we have to be out by then. The building is not open on the weekend, unless the principal lets you in.

We can go anytime with our key fobs for access. I was just there on Sunday gathering up materials. I live close so I love that I can pop in anytime!

We are free to come and go as we please. I try not to go after dark because it is creepy, and I don't want to go when the alarm might be on. It used to be on from 10pm to 6am, but I'm not sure about now.

I don't think everyone has a key to the building, but those of us who do will go in on weekends sometimes. I don't take work home, so if I really need to work after hours I'll go to school. I worked on Saturday since I'd been out for two and a half weeks.

My DH can get in his building, too. They have key cards.

I have taught at three different schools. The first had an alarm and only the principal knew the code. The second did not have an alarm, so I could get in whenever I wanted to. Sometimes I went into my classroom on the weekends or during a break to get some work done. The third had an alarm and the code was given to all of the teachers.

We can go in any time we want. We all have our own code to the security system.

Around 7 a.m. to about 4:30 p.m. Custodians want you out earlier sometimes. Room keys must be left in the main office when signing out. No weekends.

I was a long term sub at a high school and rarely left before 6:00 or 7PM. When I was finishing the assignment, I was trying to catch up on grading and I didn't leave until midnight. This school had a cleaning guy who worked by himself all night.

Any time. No alarms, but we only have access to our own room and the front office/auditorium/work room.

Before our school went to a FOB system, teachers were handed a key to the building for after-hour access. We could access the building over the weekend when it was convenient for us to go in. That was great because when my own kids were little they needed me right after school on weekdays. Having the option to go in on a Sat or Sun when my hubby could spend time with them was fantastic! Once the FOB system was in place, admins didn't want teachers in the building alone and basically eliminated the time teachers could go in on the weekends. During weekdays now with the FOB, teachers can be there until the custodians leave. If they leave the building at any point before that they can't get back in.

We have key cards in order to go in other hours/days besides when the custodian is there. People are often in on the weekend.

We have key cards. While certain employees have their entry hours limited, most of us can get in whenever we want.

Student hours are 8:00-3:30
Contract hours 7:30 to 3:45

The morning facilities staff gets to school at 6:00am and the night facilities staff leaves at 9:00pm. We are allowed to be in our classrooms from when the facilities staff gets there until 8:30pm, unless we have a special event where admin has approved us to stay later.
