blank puzzle pieces

Hi everyone! I am wondering if anyone has created a jigsaw puzzle on the computer that could be altered to be used for a reading activity?? I am pretty good with creating things on the computer but how to create puzzle pieces stumps me. I figured I would ask here since you all are so creative!

Many thanks!! Happy Thanksgiving!

Cherry Carl (www.carlscorner.us.com) sent me copy of her template that is on her site. I emailed her and she sent it to me. Checkout her site when you get a chance. Enjoy!

I've printed some of the puzzles on magnetic paper, cut them out and then scrambled them on a $ store cookie sheet...perfect for a center or take to your desk activity.

For kinders, you could draw a shape and also type a the shape's name on another puzzle piece.

Also, checkout Cherry's site, she has some ready make puzzles!! She is absolutely awesome!

Try kimskorner4teachers.com. They are on that site but I have not figured out how to write words on the pieces. I have to hand write them in after I print them.

I plan on using the puzzle pieces for vocabulary. I'll write the words on one piece and the definition on the other piece. Then I'll cut them out and place them in a baggie or envelope. The students will have to put the puzzle together by matching the puzzle pieces or matching the word with its definition. This adds a tactile-kinesthetic component to the vocabulary words.

Thanks so much, I have spent almost a day trying to figure this out without having to print them and then write on them. This is great!

Did you use the first link or did you use the ones from kimskorner? I would still like to know how to write on those puzzle pieces before printing. Thanks.
