I read this article and wonder where the brains are of people in control....

Where are their brains?

My dad would have answered: In their back pocket.

I had a conversation last week with a teacher in a neighboring district. That is their plan. Only the child who tests positive would be removed to quarantine. The rest of the class and the teacher would just go back to work.

What virus?

Yes that is the view of California. I saw and read that a few weeks ago. A certain percent had to test positive before anything changed. That is what is proposed by our Ca governor.
Sick kids go home and school has to meet quota then something happens. School shuts and go to virtual or whatever. Meanwhile the wildfire goes.

I read something similar, but I still view the CA governor as being much more concerned than the president. The president wants students in schools at any costs, just so he can brag that workers went to work and the economy went up. At least the Governor issued a state-wide mandate that schools start with virtual teaching to minimize the Covid spread.

Private schools are mostly going back with a waiver in CA. Yes I agree with pp.

I heard this on NPR yesterday and almost ran off the road. And people want to reelect this bozo.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, we've already been told to get back to work, you are merely cannon fodder for the virus.

I just saw this too. My thoughts are other essential workers are exposed too but still work. The difference is teachers are with the same people all the time. I'm worried.

I canít believe parents arenít having a fit over this. If I were a parent and found out that the school system put my child in the room with someone who should be quarantining I would be....I donít even have words for how angry I would be in that situation. If I make the decision to send a child back to school, as with the understanding that mitigation strategies will be in place. Knowing that at any moment my child can be directly exposed to someone who should be in quarantine would make me pull out immediately.

Teachers Quarantine

Luckily our district is not following this. If a student has covid-19, the whole class goes home for 14 days, and we do distance learning. If three or more people/students in the school test positive, the whole school is shut down.
