Print Budget

Just out of curiousity, how many of you have a print budget or a limit of how many copies you can make in the building? Do you have a place that you send out to print for the district? Is print a problem in your building or does it seem to run smoothly?

We get 1600 copies per month, split between 2 copiers. We can turn in stuff to the AP for approval to get riso'ed (risograph machine) for the whole grade level. Things run pretty smoothly. We have 1 laser printer per grade level and we get 2 or 3 toner cartridges for it during the year. Very sweet.

I get 1300 copier copies a month and I have a printer in my room. I use the classroom printer when I can, but if I have a 2 sided paper, I don't want to waste paper so it's a struggle to decided if I want to waste 50 sheets of paper and have two pages or use the copier and use 100 copies. I have recently found out that not all teachers use all their copies, so I'm going to start negotiating!!

We get 1,000 a month. You learn to adapt! It helps that everyone...even the specials teachers get them so we can usually bribe them with chocolate for copies if it comes down to it, but I usually only use about 600 a month.

We get one box a semester. When that runs out we have to buy our own paper.

I'd never heard of this before reading this board - we have no limits on any school supply

We also are not given any limit. We make our own copies or have parent volunteers do it for us. We have one large copier in our office and the secretary also has a printer that we can print some things on but it isn't the best quality.

We can make 100 (yes, you read that right) on our building copier a month. Then, the rest of our copies we send downtown which has a day turn around if you are lucky. We have a yearly total of $400 for that. Print is really tight and we end up doing a lot on our own. I went over last month on our building's copier and got my number shut off. 100 copies goes really fast!

I don't have a limit, but then I also don't make copies unless it's something I can't print on my printer. I have an HP Laser printer, which will print two sided copies (actually flips them, not have to run them back through!.. I love it!!). I don't have to share the printer, so one cartridge tends to last me most of the year, if not all of it.

When possible I buy books in e-book format, and just print. OR, I create my own stuff...

My previous school we had a limit of 15,000 per semester.. I never used them all... we had a teacher one year who used ALL of them, had her copies reset and used all of those!! By spring break!! HOW do you make that many copies??

a budget that we set aside for special copies (the ones that require cardstock, colored paper, basically anything not on regular white paper). We send all of our copies to "central copy" where they are printed for us. There is no limit on regular white copies that we can make. We also have two copiers at school which they would only like us to make 10 copies a day. It is so nice to have someone else print off the trickier things like 2 sides copies or booklets. Plus they collate staple and 3-hole punch stuff for us. I usually send of my copies a month at time to be done.

Copier woes

Hi, we have a limit of 2000 copies every 10 weeks. When you run out- that's it.

At my school our copier is *GOLD* so, can you believe NO teachers are even allowed to even touch it!!! Our copies are made by the grumpy school secretary or a school teacher assistant when they 'get round to it'.

It is a real issue with us all, very frustrating- but we can't seem to get access to it or win a say in how this system works.

YAY for Christmas icons!

Be Smurfy.

We get 2000 per month. Also if it is a school-wide note or something for the grade-level, they run it for us.

We get 2000 copies a month. Of course, there are 2 copiers set for that amount, so it's really 4000. I usually use the downstairs copier because it's faster. So I've been known to run out. However, the secretaries are really nice about resetting limits if you run over. Plus there is the grade level limit of 4000 a month (times 2). Copies have never really been a problem.
