Any one have any plans or ideas on what to do with the movie, Polar Express? We plan on watching it next week, but need to do an activity with it?

thanks!

I arrange chairs as if they are on a train. Print tickets for each child for boarding the "train". You could even have a pajama day and serve hot chocolate. Then I read the book. I also hide a bell on a silver ribbon in each desk. Then I announce that we need to clean out our desks (including me). They want to believe so badly, this really hooks them, especially when I find a bell in my desk too!

Our school is going to have the grade watch it in the auditorium. Students are going to wear their pj's and will receive a ticket to enter- just like in the story/movie. The parent association is going to volunteer and provide the following goodies when they are served to the characters in the movie: cookies, hot chocolate, and a jingle bell.
We've never done this before but it sounds great. I always read the book that last week of school so it is a natural fit. We're looking forward to it!
Good Luck.
