This is using the fringe foot. The foot creates large loops that you can just leave for an interesting look, but I snipped them to get a fringey look.

This technique attaches two pieces of fabric together using a decorative stitch and some metallic threads in between for just a little glitz

The third block of the month is making chenille. I am waiting to get a chenille brush that I ordered from a vendor on Etsy.

Thank you! Turns out it is pretty easy because the instructor does such a great job. It is an online course through Sewing Mastery so I can watch and rewatch the videos

Very cool. I wish I had a good sewing machine, but the finished product would never look like yours. It would be a giant mess.

Here is a photo of my machine. It is a Husqvarna Designer Brillance 80. It is both a sewing and embroidery machine. These blocks are all done with decorative stitches from the sewing machine aspect. This machine does have a fairly extensive menu of stitches. If you have decorative stitches on your machine you would be total amazed at what you can do with various feet.

The top foot is the fringe foot. It is also called a marking foot. I guess it can be used to transfer pattern markings to fabric, but this course is all about getting artistic . So fringe it was!

The bottom foot is the Spanish Hemstitch foot. (My orange block) It was used to stitch two finished edges together which were then cut and sewn into the curve. Apparently you can use it it sew fabric to lace or lace to lace. The gray piece is snapped into holes in the throat plate and decorative threads, yards, thin cording, etc. can be stitched between the two fabrics.

It is just totally amazing to me how the design of these feet can accomplish such varied purposes and looks!

If you are interested in learning these techniques the course is from Sewing Mastery and it is called Stitching Cosmos Quilt. It was a bit pricey, plus purchasing the additional feet, but it really has helped me learn so much and maximize what I can do with my machine.
