does anyone have a list of read-alouds for specific reading skills (teaching self to text connection, inference) and writing (narrative etc)

This book has a great list to correlate with the comprehesnion strategies you mentioned. For some reason, they did not include it so clearly in the new second edition. So if you know someone that has the first edition get a hold of it!

Here are a couple that I could think of for connections. Debbie Miller has a whole list in her book Reading With Meaning

Ira Sleeps Over
The Relatives Came by Cynthia Rylant
The Baby Sister by Tomie DePaola
The Art Lesson by Tomie DePaola

There's also a good one for talking about good writing called If You Want To Be A Writer. It's by Joan Lowery Nixon.

Those are all I could think of now. (Today was the last day before Christmas break so my brain is kind of out of it!)
