Could be. What grade is your DD in? How experienced is her teacher?

If her teacher gives directions before getting the whole classís attention, your DD probably didnít hear her or was listening to chatter. Or maybe the teacher repeats her directions so many times that the kids donít need to listen the first time.

In any case, Iíd have your pediatrician check her hearing, just to be sure, and to request that your DDís seat be moved closer to where the teacher stands to give directions.

As long as she isnít being defiant, I wouldnít worry about it- she just needs support.

HmmÖit sure could be focusing. That sounds unusual for 3rd grade. Iíd start with your pediatrician. If her schoolwork is affected, maybe request the school to test her.

Best of luck!
