Do you know of any websites where i can print off short stories to use for comprehension tetst? I plan on writing my own tests, but i need some fictional and non-fictaional pieces that will not be too long for the kiddos to read and then test on in one sitting.
I do not know of any websites for short stories, but just want to make sure you don't forget poetry comprehension. It is short and can be very effective for interpretive comprehension...and easy to find! I especially like poems by Shel Silverstein and Jack Perlutsky.
Also, if you are a member of Reading A - Z, the kind of stories you are looking for are already there along with comprehension quizzes.
EdHelper.com has comprehension stories-both fiction and nonfiction. There are comprehension questions that come with them, too. While our school has a subscription that allows me to print any of them, I think you can print many for free, but I could be wrong.
