Word Wall Activities, Please!

I have a high frequency words word wall in my 4th grade classroom. We have "Word Wall Wednesday" each week during our reading mini-lesson. I'm looking for fun, 10 to 15 minute activities to do with my group using our word wall. I've run out of ideas, and I like to make this a fun lesson to start our day.

Any great ideas for word wall games or activities out there? I'd love to hear what you do! Thanks so much!

to have a dry erase easel (this particular teacher had a medium sized one) positioned on the counter beneath her word wall. Before snack time she would have a student choose a word from the wall and proceed to play a game of hangman with the class.

The students really enjoy this as its fun and they are able to visually scan the wall for possible answers.

Graphic Organizer for written work,

You could also laminate some pages and write with dry erase markers or similar.

Spinner Game for pairs or group

Download the spinner.
Make your own rules or use these:

Students will each need a piece of paper and pencil to record their answer. They take turns spinning. They must all come up with a word that begins with the letter that the spinner lands on ( you can vary this to suit); it must relate to the Category ( eg theme words or HF words)for that round. If two students have the same answer for that round, then neither gets a point. Continue the game until one gets 5 points.

I replied on the Busy Board as well, but I just thought of another game.

Kaboom!
Students stand in a circle. You give them a word wall word to spell. The students each say one letter, moving around the circle. If they hesitate for too long, or make a mistake, they're "out" and sit down. At the end of the word, the next person says "Kaboom!" and they're out and sit down.
So:
BOUGHT
Student 1: B
Student 2: O
Student 3: U
Student 4: T (they're out)
Student 5: G
Student 6: H
Student 7: T
Student 8: Kaboom! (They're out).

If you don't like making them "out", you could have them do something (jumping jacks or whatever) and then rejoin the circle. But I find that it moves really quickly.
