Observation lesson on fact families

I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas for lessons on introducing fact families. This will be my last observation before tenure (yay!) so I would like for it to be a really good one! Fact families are one of my least favorite things to teach. I already do the Daddy, Mommy, and baby numbers but would like something hands on with lots of active participation. If anyone has good stuff, I'd love to hear it! Thanks!

Or you could cut out shapes (like hearts or three leaf clovers for March) and write the three numbers on the "corners". Have students cover up one corner at a time and the students have to figure out what number is under there. Then they can write the FFs and check it on the back.

this for an observation before. I had given small groups of 2 or 3 the numbers for the fact families and a + & - & = and have them make the number sentences and write them on a poster size paper.
