Like psu0815, I have never heard of 'summary rubrics'. Rubrics however, are great grading tools. Especially for things like essays and projects where there isn't a right or wrong answer to a question...and if a parent says "Well why did Timmy get an 80 when Joey got a 90"!
Rubistar is a great website for rubrics.
