An idea for the coffee filter butterflies is to let them color them with markers, then use a spray bottle and spray the colored filter and the colors will run and "bleed." Let them dry and they are GORGEOUS!

We do them every year.
I also do flowers the same way for Mothers Day. They color with markers, we spray, let dry then I fold them up and fluff out (kind of hard to explain) and attach to a mothers day pencil with tape and rubber band, then they spray with some perfume that I have and we attach a little poem.
Another idea for display case is to do a title: April showers bring May flowers and have half of case with gray bulletin board paper (left) and on the right use a bright blue. Let kids write on a huge rain drop cut out of what they like to do on rainy days, then on the left let them make flowers with scraps of construction paper and material, the butterflies can hang around the flowers (May side).
