Frog Theme

So, I have decided that in the fall the theme in my classroom will be centered around frogs. I'm hoping that you'll be able to share things that you have used/seen that were neat, decorating ideas, projects, etc. I'm trying to get my creative juices flowing early as I am not only changing my room around, I am also switching grade levels going from 2nd to 3rd...thanks in advance!!

When I did frogs, I put WELCOME TO OUR PAD on my door. I put little frog cut-out with each child's name sitting on a giant lily pad.

For my job board, I wrote each job on a lily pad and the child's name on a frog. Each week, I moved their frogs to a new job. The background of the board looked like a pond scene.

There are lots of cute "already-made" frog things at any teacher store, such as desk tags, locker labels, etc.\\\

Have fun!!

I teach 5th grade Reading. I also have a frog themed classroom and the kids love it!

BB: We're awfully "POND" of __ grade! Have a pond background with a frog on it.

***I have a poster of Reading strategies and by it I put "Catch a Reading Strategy with a frog cathcing a fly.

***By the Cd player I have: GET FROGGY! ROCK TILL YOU HOP with a frog .

*** Hoppy Helpers! We HOP to it

*** Our lockers are in our room. Clean Lockers Is No CROAK! I have a fog that looks serious.

*** I painted my reading center with frogs in a pond floating on lily pads getting some sun, laying in grass enjoying the weather. Very cute! It says: Reading is TOAD-ally Terribbit!

***Success is just a HOP, JUMP, and a LEAP away!

*** Banner: Take the Leap: Fear of flying is Worse than Fear of Croaking!

I posted the 8 expectations for living if anyone is a GE classroom or school. I typed them up and put frog clipart on them.

***FROG-uently ask yourself: Who, What Where When Why and How.
I put a frog who looks like he pondering these thoughts. For Reading Comprehension.

I have the Poetry Pad. I put monthly poems up and the kids rectie them to me.

***Leaping lily pads with AR! I cut out lily pads from cardboard and painted them green and sprayed gold glitter on them.

***Books are Frog-tastic!

These are a few things that are in my room. If you want, I can email you picts of my room.

you must get one of those tadpoles from the grow a frog kit...you can prpbably order on line-they stay in a fish bowl and live forever and actually turn from tadpole to frog..it is fun...also depending on your age group-use the Froggy series of stories....there are so many cool things like the Toad and Frog stories...and the finger plays and songs.Your catching thing could be "hop on in to lots of fun" or "come on in the water is fine" or "ribbit yourselves for a year of fun"-incentive board could read "is your frog in the pond"?all those obeying get to keep there frog in the pond for the day but if problems arise they must move their frog to the log.....

I have a frog theme in my classroom. My mother-in-law bout chairs at Big Lots with frogs on them...I created "Frogopoly" intead of "Homeworkopoly". If you go to my website, click on slideshows, and look at the classroom photo sections for this year, you can see some of what I used in my room. My behavior chart says, "It is good to be green!" I also use frog binders.
