Husband died Update II

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I went back to school Thursday. It was very difficult to get into my classroom and start doing things like before. The kids were very excited to see me. They gave lots of hugs and reassurances that it was okay to be sad. My fellow co-workers have been wonderful. My 2nd grade colleague had been doing my lesson plans while I was gone. The Title I teacher will teach my writing for a while so that I can have a little break. Another teacher is taking my recess duty next week so I can get caught up on entering grades into the computer. My biggest challenge is getting to school (I work 45 minutes away from where I live) and getting my kids to their schools. My in-laws are coming to help for a little while. The principal at my school offered to have someone cover my class for a little while in the morning if I needed to get my kids dropped off before I came to work. Everyone has been extremely supportive and helpful. Part of me is comforted by being back at school and busy. The other part of me canít figure out how to keep going with out my husband in my life. Thank you, my ProTeacher friends for the kind words of support. Your thoughts and prayers keep me going.

I know it's hard getting back into the routine, but you sound like a strong woman. It also sounds like you are well-loved in your school. I'm glad you have so many people who are willing to help you. Good luck, and keep in touch.

I'm so glad that your friends and family are stepping up to the plate, and that you have supportive administration, which is a blessing. I'm also glad that your kids in school are giving you TLC. I get tears just thinking of what a bitter blow life has handed you, but just from listening to you, I have no doubts that you'll see it through beyond the grief. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I was going to say all the things NJteacher just said. I am also glad that you have what seems like a terrific support network. Having your inlaws there might help a lot. They will probably want to be around the people who loved their son as much as they did (do).

I guess all you can do is take it day by day. We're thinking of you and thanks for keeping us updated on how you and your family is doing. Peace.

I have kept you and your family in my prayers and have been wondering how you all were doing. Thank you for keeping us updated.

I am currently reading a wonderful book called A Grace Disguised (expanded edition) by Jerry Sittser. A friend had suggested another friend and I read it as we struggle with losing a close friend to cancer. It is about "how the soul grows through loss" . It is a worthwhile read and when you are ready I would highly reccommend you read it.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers daily!!

this week. So glad you posted to let us know how you are doing. It sounds like everyone is helping out, which says so much on how loved you are. Even with the help, if you get to a point where you are feeling overwhelmed, then take a timeout for yourself and just cry. This is hell for you I am sure. Please keep us posted. You will continue being in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so glad to hear that you have so many people that obviously love and support you. Take advantage of their offers to help you, you don't have to be so strong right now. Just focus on your self and your children for now and get through one day at a time.

Everyone already said what I'd been thinking too. I wish you the best and you will get through this even if it is hard!
My best friend told me that after her brother died she just took it one day at a time. Sometimes, she said she stepped back and just took it one minute at a time.
Do what you need to do and know that you have support both in life and on PT!

I am so sorry for your loss....I didn't read it until now. I am so glad as others said you have such a wonderful family staff to work with. Your principal sounds so nice and understanding.
Just take it one day at a time. Lean on your friends that are there for you...and many that just don't know what to do because they don't want to intrude...but they are there for you too and of course all of us here.

Prayers for strength being sent your way.
