Does anyone have any pictures of their classroom with the construction theme. This is what I have planned for next year. I have caution and danger tape that police and construction workers use. Also, an orange fence that the construction crew uses.

Main Bulletin Board: "Futures Under Construction"

Door to classroom: Hard Hats Needed...Great Minds Being Built

Job Wall Display: -Diggin in to Help!
DIRT Hill (name of job) and Shovel(student name)

I am not sure what leader to have!

Birthday Wall Display: Building Zone

NOT SURE YET?????

Calendar Bulletin Board: Town Hall

daily news, birthday, insormation, weeks, months, weather, etc.

Behavior Wall: Nailing for good behaviors

Classroom Rule Wall:

Pitch In! Help Whenever you Can (looks like a park sign)
Study Zone (looks like a no passing zone sign)
Friendship is a Two-Way Street (Two way street)
Stop Look and Listen (Stop Sign)
There is No Limit to Learning (Speed Limit Sign)

CENTERS

Reading Center Board-Build a Better Future-READ
yellow and white caution tape like they use to block of an area under construction (much like the police line tape)

Math Center: U Turn to Math (looks like a u-turn sign)

Writing Center: Keep Writing (looks like a merge right sign)

Art Center:Kidstruction

Housekeeping- ?????

Computer Center: Learning zone

Block Center: Building one brick at at time

If you can name any more centers with heading....just

Our theme this coming year is "building our Futures, One block at a Time" so I plan to do a construction theme. I'd love to see some pics to get some ideas. At first I wasn't too thrilled about this idea, but it is growing on me the more I search. Thanks in advance!

I'd love to see some pictures. My school really is under construction and we're going to have open ceilings and people working in our rooms at night. I figure it's the perfect time for a construction theme in Kindergarten. Thanks! I love everyone's great ideas. I wasn't thrilled about construction, but this is getting me in the mood. I was thinking tool boxes from the $1 store might be fun for crayon boxes on the tables. I usually have each table share a plastic container of crayons.

My classroom is city themed. If you PM me, I can set you up with a lot of graphics/signs I made myself. I could even personalize them for your room if you want. Attached is one I made for our DIBELS letter naming fluency goal. Drop me a line.

That stands for anyone else in this thread as well. I have the sign files already set up as templates in Photoshop, so all I would have to do is change the text and save it as a jpeg.

of my room if you want to see my city theme. I have my room divided into areas that I made signs for:
Town Hall- big rug where we meet, read alouds etc.
Computer Store- computers
Library- leveled library and browsing area
Bus Station- coat closets
Recreation Center- workstation table I set different things up on
Learning Factory- my groups table
Warehouse- math manipulatives, supplies etc.

I also have all of my literacy workstations city-themed
i.e. Rhyming Road- rhyming
Alphabet Ave.- letter identification
Writing Road- sentence building
Handwriting Highway
First Letter Farm- beginning sounds
Magnetic Mountain- mag letters/words
Stretch It Out St.- decoding practice

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now.

I went to Dollar Tree today and they had two different construction borders there. You might want to check it out if you have a store close to you.

Hi. I'm a first year teacher and our school theme this year is "Building Better Futures". It's a nice change from "Surfing into Success" these past two years (I was a resident sub and an aide at the same school that I get to teach at now). I need some ideas and some of these sound great. I would like to get some pictures to see some of it.

Email: Thien.ca.Nguyengmail.com

Thank you!!
