Parent Appreciation Day Ideas?

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Our school is having a Parent Appreciation Day on June 12 and I have committed my class is to do some activity - a song, a poem, etc. I have 23 kids and several live-wire, intense personalities, and I'm getting nervous. Does anyone have any suggestions for something that might be workable and in the "thank you" theme for the parents?

Last year my kids sang "The Little Stuff" by Marlo Thomas on the Thanks & Giving CD. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. In fact, I'm getting tears just thinking about it.

Thanks! I got the CD and love the song. Did you have them sing it along with the CD? Because her voice is so low (great for me), I was wondering if the kids sang it on a higher pitch, and if so, how that sounded against the lower vocal of Marlo? Great song, though, short and sweet, should be pretty easy to learn!

they sang along with the CD. The easily overpowered her and sang it just a little higher. This year they are singing I Am Your Child, by believe it or not, Barry Manilow.
