Cooking Theme Ideas??

I'm trying to help a friend of mine come up with some cooking theme bb ideas. She's already has a bb starting with "cooking up..." but that's where our creativity has stopped. Any ideas? She teaches 4th grade. Thanks for all of your input. Our new school year starts mid-July, so we're in a rush to get ideas. Thanks!!

a great way to include cooking is to attach it to the real life math- multiplying fractions-increasing recipes to feed the whole classroom etc. , figuring out how much to buy to serve the group, also great to see food around the world/ different cultures/ different holiday traditions

I've looked all over this morning and can't find my copy of this. However you could make your own version. It was something like:

1 cup of effort
1 cup of responsibility
1 cup of

Mix together with ___students and one teacher for a great year!

If I find it later, I will post.

Really Good Stuff has some cute decorations for a cooking theme. YOu can google the website. If you go to Celebrations, then Back to School you can find a lot of theme decor. They have posters, pencils, and other things that go along with a cooking theme. It's cute stuff!

or Look What's Cooking in Room ___.

One of the girls I work with used that. She had utensils attached to the wall with twist ties wrapped around the utensil and then stapled through the twist tie. She stapled up a big piece of aluminum foil and had paper cookies on it with the kids' names.

Someone else asked about this same theme a few days ago. Here are a few ideas I came up with then. I was thinking off the top of my head, but it's a start...

Recipe For Success (rules on a big recipe card)
Stirring up Good Work (with a big black pot)
What's Cookin' (for your information board...calendar, newsletter, etc)
Serving up Sweet Success in __ grade (on door)
aprons and chef's hats with kids' names as desk tags
You could have a Sous Chef or Kitchen Aid (as a teacher's assistant)

I think it is a cute theme. I know a Mrs. Cook who did this theme. She used picnic tablecloths for decoration. You could add in the ants/paperplates and all. I've seen some cutouts of condiments in the school supply store.

I like the chocolate chip cookies idea too.

Have fun.

teachntx,
Your comment about the condiments at the school supply store made me think of these that I saw in my most recent Really Good Stuff catalog:

There is a freebie set called "Baking Babies". It is under free graphics, I believe. The "Baking Bliss" is not free, but is super adorable.
