Newspaper Club In The Fall

Last year I started an after school book club. It was fun, and we set it up like you would for literature circles in class.

The last book that we read was entitled Regarding the Fountain by Kate Klise. (One of my favorite books by the way!).

Anyway, my book club students were SOOO interested in the newspaper headlines in the book, they decided to make their own newspaper in book club. It was really cute, we had different sections and stuff.

Well, now my principal wants me to start a Newspaper club in the fall...YIKES!! I know that there must be some kind of format that you can use on the web, right? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

In book club we did it all by hand on newsprint!! HELP!!

We have our students type their articles on MS Word in the computer lab. I save them on my zip drive and then open them on my computer and cut & paste them into a newsletter format in MS Publisher. It turns out looking very much like a newspaper because we copy the pages onto 11x17 paper and fold it in half.
Good luck! Newspaper club is really fun to sponsor!
