Teacher Supply Stores

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I've been looking for teacher supply stores that I can actually go into. Does anyone know of any in the southern New England area? I figure if I'm going to be waiting around for a job, I might as well make use of my time and get things for my non-existent classroom. I have a good amount of books but I'm looking for decorative stuff now.
Today I was at Joann Fabrics and got a lot of cute stuff that I could use as gifts for the kids, or a prize box even! Or just to have around in case anyone needs it. I know Dollar Tree is a good place to go, but I want to go into a teacher supply store!

I know this doesn't help you, but those stores charge more then they need to. It's amazing how much "teacher stuff" you can find in the aisle at target, dollar tree, and the office supply stores. Walmart even gets a little in there....

As for recommenations in NE, my pal teacher goes to "Christmas Tree Shop" in NH and they're all over up north I'm told. She brings TONS of teacher/classroom stuff back from there. http://www.christmastreeshops.com/

Good luck!

Lakeshore locations

Lakeshore Learning Store can be spendy but I still love it! You can find things there not available at non-teacher stores (like the large bulletin board sets & decorative things or certain manipulatives & games.) Here's the link to their store locations:

http://www.lakeshorelearning.com/gen...ctedstores=all

A few years ago I worked there as a part time job to bring in a little more money and it was wonderful. My manager was super flexible with my hours (since I was already a full time teacher) and I received a discount!!

I second Christmas Tree Shops. There's another chain that has some stores in CT called Ocean State Job Lot. I have gotten some deals on markers and watercolors in there.

So after hearing you rave about Christmas Tree Shops, I checked out their website. WOW! I've never seen prices so low! I wish they were in North Carolina...

You mentioned southern New England. There is a place that is called the Chalkboard. they have a store in Bristol, CT and also in West Hartford, CT. I know there used to be another one and I think that it was called the Parent-Teachers store. they had one at the Holyoke mall in MA.

Hope this helps you a little. You should try doing a search in the Yellow pages online. You might come up with more.

I live in eastern Mass. and so I do visit Christmas Tree Shops and Lakeshore. But you can find good teacher stuff on line, too. Try reallygoodstuff.com or google classroom decorations
