Clip to ScrapBook #1

I've just discovered the Donorschoose.com website and would love to write a proposal.

I teach 4th gr. Rdg/ Lang/ Soc. Stud. at a school that recieves no Title 1 money - therefore, i don't have much in the way of technology...that's where I think i'd like to focus my first proposal. (I have a personal laptop and two desktop computers in my classroom - only one of them is connected to the internet. I do have access to an InFocus machine.)

Do you have something in your classroom (such as a smartboard, etc.) that you use often/couldn't teach without? What would you recommend? Any input is appreciated! Thanks so much in advance.

My digital projector is on the ceiling. I have an Elmo so I never have to make another transparency again. Also my computer is connected to the digital projector so if I model searching the internet to the kids, the digital projector projects it onto a screen. Also I have a DVD connected to this system, so if I show a movie, it goes through the digital projector. I also have surround sound.

Our principal bought a Smartboard for every classroom in our school. I have used it for 3 years and couldn't live without it now. It has so many resources that you can use with it. Without a doubt, I would go for a SmartBoard and scanner to go with it. Good luck.

The best new piece of technology I have received recently? A document camera (Elmo). It is so cool. I got it this February, and I don't know how I ever taught without it!!!!!!!
I also have a projector, smartboard, computers, laptop, digital cameras.
