Okay I saw someone used this and then searched the archive but it didn't really tell me how and when you play.

Does anyone use this? Is it a whole class thing??

I used it last year and it was awesome...the kids loved it.

I made a 100s chart on the computer and laminated it... The kids could get numbers for various things. I had a cup for old numbers and new numbers. When they got a number, I picked the number from the cup and colored the corresponding number on the paper with a vis-a-vis.

My number system was:

1 number for:
none of the kids changed their cards today
everyone turned their homework in today

2 numbers for:
Getting a compliment from a teacher, principal, or another staff member (like "Wow, your class is being very quiet in the hallway).

3 numbers for:
Good behavior at an assembly
Good behavior at a field trip

4 numbers for:
A good note from a substitute teacher (I used to sub, so this is a big deal to me)

We voted on a prize for each time (no homework day, pajamas day, popcorn and a movie) and when we got 10 in a row, they got the prize.

They love it and I only had to give out 3 prizes throughout the year because it really takes a long time to get 10 in a row.

I use it for the Cafeteria. We are on a points system there.

If they get a 5 in the Cafeteria (our best) they get to pull 2 numbers. If they get a 4, we pull 1 one number. Anything less, no numbers are pulled. If they get 5s all week (five 5s) they get to choose any two numbers (as a class) to fill in at random without having to pull that bingo number (so they get to choose the two numbers they wish that will help them to get a bingo faster).

I do this whole class. We pull the numbers right before we go home.

Once they get a bingo, the kids choose a reward that doesn't cost me any money PE is always a popular choice. But an art project, educational movie or some extra free time to play games is always an option as well.

What grade levels are you all using this? Any in fifth? I'm thinking this is really a good idea, but want it not to be "too primary" for upper elementary students.

Behavior bingo in my class

I didn't make a big deal out of it, so it was just 8 1/2"x11" sheet and I had it hanging with a magnet on my chalkboard.

what numbers were in the cups? also did you draw say 4 numbers if they got a good not from the sub? or did you color in 4 squares on the 100 chart?

Let me know I would love to use this with my second graders

Thanks

could you please explain further how you set up and run your Behavior BINGO? What are the old numbers and the new numbers? A picture might help along with your directions for playing. Thanks.
