The poem is for meet the greet and I teach third. You can download the poem at my website www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/RCarver
You will have to resize it on the copy machine though. Thanks everyone for the comments. I hope the kids do love it!
Your room looks fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I'm going into my classroom to work again tomorrow, but I'll definitely post my pictures when I'm finished. I love seeing other teacher's classrooms.
Did you make your Parts of Speech/Grammar posters or did you buy them somewhere?? I really like them.
Thanks so much for sharing...I've really been looking forward to seeing your pics. Your room is so awesome...you did a really GREAT job! You really are a great, creative teacher. It makes me even more excited to finish my room. It will probably take another week or so, but I'm getting there!
I'm new to my school this year and new to this grade (2nd), so I'm trying to focus on making a good impression. My walls are off-white (which I left because I didn't want to paint it all ~ yuck!), but I painted a lot of the accent areas black and silver. I have a free standing chalkboard area in the middle-back of my room that I painted black and has silver and gold stars painted on it. My smartboard is a little high up for my kiddos, so I'm going to build a 'stage' for them to stand on while using it (as well as for other times). I am also planning on putting red curtains around the smartboard so it looks even more like a stage area.
I've gotten a few decorations from the party store, and I'll be looking for more (always). Is the sign above your door ordered from an online party store? It looks familiar, but I can't remember where I saw it. It looks even better when you can see it being used.
Thanks for sharing your pics and all of the great items on your site! You have helped me tremendously!
I am doing the Hollywood theme this year and love your room! Where did you find the black and white filmstrip border? All I have found is multi-colored.
Thanks,
Nanny
It's called "Center Stage" set by Trend. I got it from my local school supply store. My consequences for the behavior chart is green-great day, yellow-warning, blue-lose recess, pink-parents contacted, and red-office referral
I love your math word wall. Does your district require you to post your words?? What is the skirt around your computers? I couldn't tell if it was black with silver stars????? Was it hard to create your titles from Microsoft word? And I think I missed the website where you ordered your sign?

Reason: added to it
No we are not asked to post up Math words. I just decided to do that this year because it might help the kiddos with the math terms on our state test. The skirt is just primary colors. I am not sure what sign you are talking about. The one above my door? I ordered it at http://partysupplieshut.makesparties...roductID=72045
Your classroom is great! I am also doing a Hollywood theme and I love all of the new ideas. Can you post your grammar posters? Those look like what I wanted.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can use to designate/display groups? I have to cluster the student desks into groups for the sake of space. I have numbered them before but it seems so boring. I call them by groups to line up, mail their papers, etc... It would be fun to display their group name in a fun way that ties in with the theme. Also something that won't get wrecked in two weeks. I have yaffa blocks next to each group for their "office" to hold community supplies, clip boards, etc.
Also...any where I can find little Hollywood icons for my agenda board? I could use some help with the agenda as well.
Thanks. You all have such great ideas. My head is spinning everyday about it. I have two weeks until school starts. It's crunch time!
I just visited your website and adore your room. I am going with the hollywood theme too this year; however, I am having trouble finding items for such a theme. I was able to find the popcorn tubs for $3 at Party City which will be used to hold my students school supplies but I was wondering where you had gotten your decorations such as the one on the door entrance with your name and the curtains on the star of the week?
but where did you get all of your cute borders and materials to make those adorable signs?? i haven't been able to find anything like that yet in the catalogs i've been looking through.
Berlyok I am not sure what poem you are talking about? If it is for the popcorn bags you can find a copy at my website www.myteacherpages.com/webpages/RCarver
alb26 I purchased the border from my local school supply store.
Hi! I really have enjoyed looking through your ideas for your room! I would love to use your poem for back to school night and cannot get the website to open. Would you mind emailing it to me? I'll send you a pm with my email. Thank you so much!
