Our "Meet the Teacher" night is tomorrow and I need help thinking of a cute idea. Last year, the teacher next to me had one Hershey's Hug chocolate candy sitting on each students desk when they came in the room with a note that said, "Your first hug from Mrs. X!!" . I am trying to think of something similar that I could do without stealing her idea. I need some kind of small candy and a cute phrase to go with it to welcome the kids..... Any ideas???
I've done this before, I guess it was more so for the parents. Thanks for coming to ____________ (Open House or Meet the Teacher Night)! Your attendance "mint" alot! I attached a peppermint or some type of mint with it. Or you can do popcorn and put it in those cute red and white popcorn bags from the $ Tree with a note that says "Thanks for poppin' in!"
I've been looking for this poem/idea. My son's teacher gave us this poem attached to an apple on open house night. She put the apple inside a gift bag with colored tissue on top. I thought it was such a cute idea. I plan to repeat this with my student's parents.
As sugar and flour come together to make
A wonderful cookie creation that you bake,
Parents and teachers join as one
To create an educated daughter or son.
It takes lots of love, caring and understanding
But an individual will emerge who is special not withstanding.
We will work together to help each child bloom
So they can grow and prosper as they learn in this room.
So I share this little confection with you as I say
I am committed to helping your child grow each and every day.
Yes, the road is long, but the journey's begun
As we strive to educate your daughter or your son.
