"This Group is No Longer Active"

When a group becomes inactive, a banner is displayed across the top of the group that says "This Group is No Longer Active". Once a group is inactivated, it is removed from the list of active groups. The inactivated group remains available to members who joined the group, but group members can no longer post new messages or replies in the group unless it is reactivated (see below).

Why is my group Inactive?

There are a few reasons why groups become inactive:

1. The host of the group has inactivated the group.

2. Group members are not participating actively in the group, and staff has inactivated the group

3. The group has no active host and no one has volunteered to be the host of the group, and staff has inactivated the group

Can I get my group reactivated?

Yes, but to reactivate a group, you must first be determined to participate regularly in the group and encourage other members to do so. If you are not interested in participating actively and regularly in the group yourself, then there is no point reactivating it.

How To Reactivate a Group

If you are the host of the group, do the following:

1. Find the "Group Tools" menu and select "Edit Group".

2. Change the "Group Category" to either "Teaching Related" or "Not Teaching Related"

3. Click "Save"

4. Post a message on your group and encourage other members to participate.

If you are NOT the host of the group, do the following:

1. See if the host of the group is still an active ProTeacher member

2. If the host of the group is still an active ProTeacher member, contact the host asking about the group

3. Consider volunteering to host the group (the current member hosting the group can transfer the group to you)

4. Send a Private Message to "Editor" for further help.
